Aww...

SILLY BOY!

SPIT!

THE WORKS OF LANDON BEFORE CHRISTMAS ^
MY CUTE BOYS.........

SORRY, OUR WINDOW IS DIRTY!!! :(

Right now my sweet baby boy is sick. :( That is quite sad since this is his first Christmas, but it probably has something to do with his teething...he will be cutting teeth 5 and 6 again. His two top lateral insicors!!! He already has his two front teeth for Christmas...now he is working on his other front teeth. You wouldnt know though because he is in such good spirits (but you would know from the looks of the teeth marks pressed into his wooden crib)! Daniel and I are enjoying the season with him...lots of fun watching him laugh and giggle!

Little cute boy

Spikey hair boy...due to his cradle cap :(

Our little cute boy really keeps us busy these days. He has become a pretty good crawler, but doesnt want to crawl too too much. He'll crawl and then sit on his butt, then maybe crawl a little more and sit on his butt. He is too cute! He loves pulling himself up and standing. He can't get enough of that! He wants to be an adult, in that he wants to stay up late, he wants to stand, and he wants to eat our food. He has already tried mozzarella cheese, yogurt, and peanut butter. I dont give him much of these foods, of course, but his body doesnt reject them nor does he seem to have a problem with them so I let him try little bits.
His nights have been a little rocky lately because he had caught a cold and get's to sleep with momma on his nights of recovery. Now that he is better we are trying to retrain him to sleep in his crib and it hasnt been going very smooth but we are all managing this transition.
I have come to a place where I have learned how to sleep on the couch sitting up and have mastered it to the point that I enjoy taking a nap with Landon, during the day, sitting up on the couch but I also have come to the understanding that I cannot do this forever and have to make sure Landon knows how to sleep in his crib. I have just realized the importance of this because if I dont start now, it will be incredibly hard later to try to tell him that he can't sleep in mommy's arms forever. The boppy is only so big and cannot rest a 2 year old.
This brings up a good point! With my worries in the past (that I may not make it to a year of breast feeding) it looks like I am going to make it to my goal!!! We are 4/6 th's of the way through his first year! Only 4 months left to go and I should be free of breastfeeding. I think this may be hard for Landon when mommy can't give him his breast friend anymore, but I have already come up with an idea on how to get him used to cow's milk. I will pump enough milk in order to be able to mix it with cow's milk! I thought this was a good idea...we'll see how it works in 4 months!
Well anyways, that will be all for now. Each day we have more love for our little cute boy! We cannot help but smile when he smiles and laughs. Too precious!

Uh Oh!!!

Before we dropped Landon's mattress down to a safe standing ^^^^^

After Landon's crib was made safe ^^^^^^^ What a funny boy!!!

In the passed few days Landon has improved with his crawling, sleeping, and pulling himself up to stand holding on to things! Can a child really mentally and developmentally grow so quickly?! Wow! I guess so. Daniel had to lower Landon's crib yesterday because as you can see it would have been a hazard if he would have leaned over the edge of his crib while we are out of his room.
Last night Landon slept from 9:15- 5am! I am so glad that his sleep training seems to have worked!

Our first pumpkin

This is Daniel and my first pumpkin. I met Daniel in 2004 and we have never carved a pumpkin together! Crazy huh? Well I wanted to make this a new tradition now that we have Landon! Daniel had a great idea to carve a Yankee's pumpkin. It turned out awesome and it was pretty fun for Landon. He wanted to eat it. Lucky for me, since he is a baby I just let him wear his diaper and he was very easy to clean up.

My Yankee Men

These are my two favorite Yankee's! As we know the Yankee's are in the play offs and my husband is a die hard Yankee fan. So that means our Landy gets dressed in Yankee apparel.

7 months old

Tonight I drove passed the hospital that I gave birth to Landon. I looked up and saw the room that I stayed in waiting to be able to take my baby home and hold him. It's easy to spot my room because I was on the corner of the hospital in one of the rooms that had a balcony. It was not an ideal room for someone that just gave birth to a baby but I think it was a room that they give to people that dont have their baby with them. For me that was the case because as soon as Landon came out I was able to hold him for a few minutes and then taken away to the NICU. I remember they wheeled me out of the labor and delivery room and as they were walking me to my room they played the little lullaby for me (to signal that I was someone that just gave birth to a baby). As I listened to the lullaby empty handed I felt like bursting into tears. My sweet baby was in the NICU and for the next couple of days I would be scared off and on by different people regarding Landon's heart.

Today Landon is a healthy, booming, energetic boy that no one would ever think had a problem in the beginning. I am so grateful today that God kept him safe and healed him. He is such a joy and so precious to my heart. Tonight as I passed the hospital I thought of how having him was one of the best times of my life.
So yesterday was actually Landon's 7 month birthday but of course in my busy schedule I am a bit late. The other day Landon tried his first lemon! He really loved it! He must really like sour because he didnt really make any pucker faces. He made one slight face but that was about it.
Also, he learned how to drink out of a straw and actually did that yesterday (exactly at 7 months). I never let him have a straw but he took it in his bath water and started sucking up the water. Before he started drinking a bunch of soapy water I gave him a cup with clean water and a new straw and he just loved drinking that water out of a straw like a big boy.

(My monkey baby ....holding his monkey baby ^)

He still is having some interesting nights. They arent bad nights but he would much rather sleep with his momma than in a bed by himself. He starts the night out in his crib and then he wakes up at different times during the night. Sometimes I get him back to sleep in his bed or sometimes I just take him out into the living room so we both can go back to sleep right away. He can pretty much sleep straight through once he gets his breast friend (he falls right back to sleep) but it is beginning to make me wonder what is going to happen in the middle of the night once he is 1 and I am no longer breast feeding him. I am just wishing that he could just sleep through the night as I keep seeing that tons of other parents babies do! I must be doing something wrong here. But then again one day these days will be over and my little baby will be a boy that doesnt want his momma anymore and I will cherish these nights that I was able to cuddle him.
Lately Landon's teething has gotten worse! I am not sure why because I can't see any new teeth coming. He bit me about 5 times today though and gets fussy sometimes when the teething get really bad. Poor guy! :(
With Landon turning 7 months a reality hits that I am 1 month late in getting him his shots. He was sick quite a bit the passed month so I had to wait until he got well. I called for his appointment today so next week I will be able to post about his weight and measurements. I will not be surprised if he is 21 lbs. now! He is getting really heavy especially when I try moving him in the middle of the night when I am practically half asleep.
Landon hasnt learned how to crawl but he is in training. I think it will be soon. Hope you enjoyed reading the Landon latest. :)

First trip to the zoo!

Today was the last day to get into the zoo for free! If you were to show your fry's VIP card you could get 2 adults into the zoo free. Babies are free too! So our little family of 3 all were free! So we pushed Landon around the zoo in his stroller. I dont know if I saw many animals, since they are kind of camouflage, but Daniel and I enjoyed it and enjoyed the fact that Landon was being so good! We enjoyed watching the monkeys as Landon slept in his stroller. They were too cute...it looked like a husband/wife monkey couple and it looked like the wife was going through her husband's hair picking out the bugs and eating them and he relaxed on the ground...loving her playing with his hair. It was so cute! Anyways, we had a good time and I hope you enjoy our pictures of our little family zoo trip.

Busy Busy

Landon gets a good view of his Mommy driving when we are in the car, now that he has his nice fancy car seat.

Landon's Daddy's rocking horse. Landon is still a little too small. Note: my hand to the side ready to catch him if he fell.
Apple juice bottle! One of Landon's favorites!
Landon's favorite stuffed animal at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The singing Alphabet ducky!

My lack of blogging is from my lack of time and being kind of busy. Landon is now well so hopefully I will be a better blogger. Hope I can catch everyone up with this blog.
So let's see what's new? Landon is getting his 2 bottom teeth in!!! Shortly after I saw the first one I started seeing the second! The first has already broken through the gums but I think his second is still working its way through. Those little guys are sharp, but so far he isn't shredding me apart at feeding time. I am so thankful for that!
Lately, I have been spending my nights out on the couch with Landon. I have decided that I just need to pick my battles. I have Landon in his crib for a little while and then when it seems like he doesnt want anymore (or that I just want to go back to sleep) I will just bring him out on the couch and sleep sitting up with him on his comfy boppy pillow. When I sleep with him on the couch he sleeps really well and will sleep for about 9 or 10 hours a night. I dont know why it is but now for some reason it's not really a sleep issue for me...I have a new issue and that is when I sleep on the couch I am now waking up with my throat- not- so- happy. I think it has to do with either the air conditioning finding its way into my mouth while I am sleeping sitting up..or may it's just the way I have my head resting back as I sleep. I'm not quite sure. It's just too bad that now that I'm used to sleeping on the couch and Landon getting sleep from what I am doing that now I have a throat issue when I wake up. Oh well.
Let's see ..... a Landon love? That would be apple juice!....Landon loves watered down apple juice. Now 2 days in a row I have given him his juice and he has drank about 3 1/2 ounces in one sitting! That's quite a bit for a little boy. What I do is I put it in his little infant feeding bottles (2 ounce plastic hospital bottles) and he drinks it right up. He wasn't too happy with me tonight when I had to take the bottle away to get him a refill. Why wait?! He wanted it NOW!
The little Landon tidbits of what he is doing.....he is scooting. I have found him to have moved about 2 feet without any help! And he is now enjoying baths in the kitchen sink. It is so much easier for me to bathe him that way, plus he loves the kitchen sprayer. Getting sprayed on the pesty little baby teeth is a highlight of his bathtime.
Today he was able to see my friend Nate again. Nate was one of my best friends my junior and senior year. He helped me through a rough time in my life and I am so glad I am still friends with him today. Landon seemed to get along with him really well too. When we went to the park Nate was showing him different things of nature, like a pinecone....the texture of a tree, etc. When Nate gave Landon back to me, Landon reached his arms back to Nate and wanted Nate to hold him again. It was too cute. He then got to see grandma and then on to see his cousin Lukey and Aunt Melody. What a big day....ya for him too! Mommy needs to turn in, but I hope I was able to kind of catch you up on Landon's latest.
